Bryan Station!

The Bryan Station High School PTSA has an annual operating budget of approximately $3000. Membership fees, donations and fund raising events provide the revenue to fullfill the budget requirements.

The BSHS PTSA Executive Board feels that the PTSA should provide joint fund raising opportunities for any BSHS club, student organization, team, booster group, etc. that would like to participate. Joint fund raising means that participating groups use the fund raiser as a vehicle to raise money for their selected group. Each group agrees to share the cost of the fund raiser. Profits for each group are then derived from the total revenue raised by each group less the group's share of the cost.

The BSHS PTSA Fund Raising Committee leads the joint fund raising effort. To participate in the 2010/2011 PTSA joint fund raisers, a group must be represented on this committee. The Sponsorship Drive Document explains the fund raising projects the Committee is currently executing. BHG Gift Certificates		 Present this flyer when purchasing BHG (Malone's, Sal's Chophouse, Harry's, Oscar's, ...) Gift Certificates and the BSHS PTSA receives 20% of your total purchase. To designate another BSHS group as the beneficiary simply send a copy of your gift certificate purchase receipt to the BSHS PTSA.

Program Background

Amazon.com allows volunteers from non-profit organizations to wrap gifts during the holiday season each year. Based on the number of gifts wrapped by the volunteers, Amazon makes a donation to that organization. The Bryan Station High School PTSA allows volunteers from any BSHS group participating in the PTSA Sponsorship Drive to participate under the PTSA contract. Please see the flyer from Amazon for more information. Please ignore the "To participate" paragraph on this flyer since the information is intended for organizations, not individuals. Amazon.com has also provided a list of Frequently Asked Questions to improve understanding of this program.

2010 Program Instructions

Amazon is managing volunteers and shift assignments online using CERVIS Volunteer and Event Management software. Volunteer "wrappers" must create an amazon.com CERVIS login ID (one time), then select from available shifts by selecting the Register/Unregister for an Event link on the 'Service Events' page of the 'amazon.com CERVIS' web page. First time volunteers, please see the Detailed Registration Instructions to assist you in creating your login ID.

2010 Gift Wrap Training Events

Training is required for each volunteer who participates, even if the volunteer has been trained in a previous year. Training must be obtained before a volunteer comes to Amazon.com to gift wrap. Please use CERVIS to register for one of the training sessions below:

2010 Gift Wrap Do's and Don'ts

When working a gift wrap shift at Amazon, please adhere to the guidelines below:

  1. DO, wear shoes that cover your entire foot, heel to toe.
  2. DO, bring photo ID (drivers license or equivalent) when reporting to work.
  3. DO, put your photo ID in the lanyard you received at your training session.
  4. DO, arrive 15 minutes early for your shift since tables are assigned on a first come/first served basis. NOTE: If you are late, you won't be able to start until an Amazon Ambassador is available to admit you into the wrapping area.
  5. DO, save the gift card from each wrap to receive credit for your work.
  6. DON'T, bring cell phones or personal electronics into the Amazon building.
  7. DON'T, bring food or drinks into the Amazon building (water bottles and gum are allowed).

2009 Program Highlights

  • 136 different nonprofit organizations participated.
  • Over 1,750 volunteers came to Amazon to gift wrap.
  • 260,000 packages were wrapped for Amazon.com customers.
  • Volunteers wrapped at an average rate of 20 packages per hour.
  • Amazon.com contributed $214,000 to participating organizations.

  • 2010 Results: 7 volunteers earned $3,258.30 for 5 BSHS Groups
  • 2009 Results: 19 volunteers earned $3,465.40 for 5 BSHS Groups
  • 2008 Results: 12 volunteers earned $2019.30 for 4 BSHS Groups
